Deborah Harrison
Deborah Harrison (1956-2017) was raised at Great Kids Farm in the 1960s. It was known then as the Bragg School for Boys, where African American boys with emotional issues in the Baltimore City school system were bused daily to the campus. There they were exposed to experiences they would not have had otherwise like connecting with nature, doing shop work and ceramics, playing sports, and caring for animals. Her parents' belief in the power of education and civic mindedness gave Deborah a foundation that she carried with her throughout her career working with at-risk youth, the homeless, and domestic and sexual assault victims. Deborah served an advisor at Prince George's Community College and maintained a lifelong interest in nature, as well as the healing arts and writing.
