Friends, 

I am excited to report that we have hired a new Executive Director for Friends of Great Kids Farm. Please join me in welcoming Jessie Lehson. She comes to us from MICA where she has been a faculty member and administrator for the last eight years. Jessie has had experience in non-profit fund-raising, event planning and grant writing. She brings an enthusiasm for education, farm to table eating and creating opportunities for city students to gain exposure to sustainable models of food production. A long time urban gardener and edible landscaping aficionado she is currently finishing up certification as a master gardener. Jessie has jumped right in to this busy time at the farm and had a chance to take in one of our Garden Summits last week and sees the constant stream of Baltimore City 7th graders on their Learning Journeys exploring, learning and tasting what Great Kids Farm has to offer. She will be reaching out to introduce herself to you over the next several months and update you on the progress we have been making in getting more students engaged with the wonders of growing fresh vegetables.
